The purpose of this informal roundtable is to discuss opportunities and challenges associated with India’s growing pharmaceutical footprint on the African continent, and to gain policy-relevant insights into how sustainable and equitable pharmaceutical trade, business and cooperation between India and Africa may be promoted.
The preliminary agenda includes panels discussing 1) India’s role in promoting affordable healthcare on the African continent, 2) Approaching Africa: Strategies and scenarios of Indian firms, 3) From diplomacy and diaspora to local business: Strengths and limitations of Indian pharmaceutical business operations in Africa, and 4) Policies and initiatives for ensuring sustainable and equitable India-Africa pharmaceutical relations.
