Latin Americas new pentecostal populism

In one country after the other, leaders of the ever more popular evangelical churches enter politics. As in the rest of the world, a political void has been created by corruption revelations, economic hardships, globalization and inequality. However, in Latin America, the evangelical leaders also lean on long traditions of populism and "caudillismo".
