About the project
The duration of the project is from 2010 – 2012.
Outcomes
The outcomes of the project will include an anthology of work, which brings together the disparate research in this area, and a socio-technically informed research program for the members of the network and their associates. The overall aim is to promote the development of energy efficient lighting. LEDs seem to have the potential to radically reduce energy consumption without adding to the use of environmentally damaging pollutants. However, lighting is part of our everyday life and thus dependent on existing technologies, our habits and culture. Therefore encouraging the use of LED technologies in the domestic context will involve an understanding of both the social and technical aspects of lighting, and for this reason a multi-disciplinary project is proposed.
Financing
The project is funded by the Northern European Innovative Energy Research Programme (N-INNER).
Cooperation
The project is a cooperation between several Nordic and German universities, and is lead by Mats Bladh from Linkoping University, Sweden.
