Development Ethics and Human Rights as the Basis for Global Poverty Reduction (completed)
The aim of this study is to critically analyze how ethics and human rights is being, and may be, used to articulate the responsibilities of development agencies and their staff so as to guide and motivate their knowledge and policies.
About the project
We are undertaking the investigation in four rather different multilateral development agencies – World Bank (WB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organisation (UNESCO) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Identifying actual practices of responsibility may be a first step for an open dialogue on a fair and appropriate distribution of responsibilities for the eradication of poverty in expertised institutions and among people working for the reduction of poverty. The study will be carried out over a three-year period, from 2005 to 2007.
