Kristian Bjørkdahl new postdoctoral fellow
Bjørkdahl has a PhD in rhetoric (2016) from the University of Oslo, on American pragmatism and the rhetoric of moral community. For the last three years, he has held a position as researcher at the Rokkan Centre for Social Studies on a project on science communication, funded by the Research Council of Norway. He has been involved in SUM’s teaching and research collaborations for a number of years.
In his postdoc project, he will investigate the origins, development and rhetorical use of the notion that the Nordics are exceptional providers of aid and humanitarian assistance, because of their alleged non-complicity in the colonial project.
Bjørkdahl is also a nonfiction book critic and essayist, and a publisher at the independent Mime forlag.
