The Norwegian Network for Asian Studies (Asianettverket) wishes to promote the field of Asian studies in Norway, and we have therefore established a prize for the best MA thesis on an Asian studies topic. The prize is awarded yearly, and consists of 5,000 NOK and a diploma.

The thesis must be evaluated at a Norwegian university or college in 2019 or 2020 and be academically placed within the humanities and/or social sciences, broadly defined. "Asia" in this regard is defined as the region from Japan in the East to (and including) Afghanistan in the West, including the Asian parts of the Pacific Ocean. The submitted theses will be evaluated by a committee, and the winner will be announced at our annual Christmas meeting in December.

If you wish to participate, please either send a digital version of your thesis by email, send two copies of your thesis to Asianettverket, Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM), P.O. Box 116 Blindern, 0317 Oslo or hand them in at SUM, Sandakerveien 130, Oslo.

For more information, contact Assistant Network Coordinator Kjersti Litleskare (kjersti.litleskare@sum.uio.no).

Deadline: 1 September

Is your thesis deadline delayed due to corona related issues? Contact us for possible deadline extension.
