Min nåværende forskning dreier seg om politiske og økonomiske eliters rolle i utvikling og miljøpolitikk, og forholdet mellom økonomiske og politiske eliter. Mer spesifikt leder jeg et prosjekt om mellomamerikanske økonomiske gruppers strategier i en globalisert økonomi, og en arbeidspakke om betydningen av eliteendring for miljøpolitikk i et større EU finansiert prosjekt om miljøstyring i Latin-Amerika. Jeg er også i økende grad interessert i den ulovlige økonomien i Latin-Amerika og implikasjoner for statlig autoritet og stat-samfunn relasjoner.
