Asianettverkets mastersymposium

- Wei Guo (UiO): "Dilemmas of Ecological Modernization in China: The Case Study of the Loess Plateau Watershed Rehabilitation Project"

- Athithan Jayapalan (UiB): "A Transnational Political Engagement: Solidarity, Nationhood and Pan-Tamilness among the Tamils of Tamilnadu"

- Lars Olav Aaberg (UiO/ NIBR): "Masculinities on Top: Upwardly Mobile Gender Configurations in a South Indian Urban Slum"

- Muhammad Ardhi (UiT): "The Asia's interest in the Arctic: A study of Russian Perspective"

Kommentarer vil være ved:

Francesca Refsum Jensenius, seniorforsker ved NUPI (Norsk Utenrikspolitisk Institutt)

Harald Bøckman, kinaforsker og tidligere koordinator for Asianettverket

English:

The Network for Asian Studies are hosting our first annual Master Symposium on Wednesday 23 March here in Oslo, where we would like to give exceptional students an opportunity to present their findings to an audience, as well as to receive friendly feedback from professional commentators. The idea behind the Master Symposium is that great theses should be highlighted, instead of simply written and then put in a drawer and forgotten.

We will pick four to five theses for the symposium. The theses submitted should all be centered around an Asian topic, and have been (or will be) evaluated at a Norwegian university or college in the years 2014-2016. (If a thesis is not 100 per cent finished by March, that is quite all right.) The presentation can be in Norwegian or English.
