Breakfast will be served from 08:30, and the seminar will start at 08:45.

Dr. Lori Hanson,
University of Saskatchewan

In this breakfast seminar, Lori Hanson will discuss how health activists can organize themselves and respond to austerity measures put in place in the global North. She will draw from the experience of Saskatchewan, Canada, where various community and activist groups have coalesced in reaction to budget cuts and organized mass opposition throughout the province. She will contextualize this analysis within reflections on the role of social movements in the promotion of health equity more generally, drawing on her experiences working with the People’s Health Movement.
