LEVE Student Seminar
LEVE Student seminars is aimed at students at Master’s level who are interested in issues concerning health, the environment and poverty in developing countries.
Two Master students will present challenges they had while on fieldwork, and there will be some light snacks and drinks served afterwards.
The overall theme of the seminars is development and livelihoods where the “new, complex risk profile” is a focal point:
- Environmental changes
- Changing settlement patterns
- Financial fluctuations
- Lack of or inadequate health service
- Changes in global policy and governance
The student seminar is a monthly student seminar series initiated by “LEVE – Livelihoods in Developing Countries” housed at the Centre for the Environment and Development (SUM) at the University of Oslo. It is intended that the seminars should establish a platform for master students to discuss and learn about topics that are relevant to their own research project. The seminars will therefore be based on suggestions and feedback from students. As an interdisciplinary approach is promoted, students from all disciplines are encouraged to join. Other interested persons are also welcome to attend.
